Suad Jakupovic is a writer of fiction rooted in survival, resilience, and realities of conflict, because those are not just themes to him, but lived experiences.

Born in Bosnia when it was still part of Yugoslavia, he grew up during the Bosnian War, enduring hardships few experience-including surviving a wartime detention camp as a child. Those early years left a lasting imprint on him on how he sees the world and people in it.

Seeking a new beginning, he emigrated to the United States, where he completed his education before he joined US Army. His military service included deployments to Afghanistan and Iraq, followed by work as military contractor in eastern Europe.

Upon returning to United Stated, he continued his commitment to service as a police officer and deputy sheriff, serving for fifteen years before retiring.

Across each chapter of his life, from war to military service to law enforcement, one constant remained: the instinct to survive, adapt, and push forward under pressure.

Today, Suad channels those experiences into fiction. His novels are driven by realism, tension, and the moral complexity of people forced into extraordinary situations. His work is grounded in the belief that the most compelling stories are the ones that feel real and readers can connect with.

He has a strong interest in survival, history, and real-world conflict, which continue to influence his writing.

He lives in North Carolina with his wife and daughter, whose unwavering support has made this chapter of his life possible.
